• The next Association meeting will be held on November 13, 2024, at FS40 and on Zoom. The meeting will start at 6:30pm. Information for joining the meeting on Zoom will be sent out via email and be available under the Member Resources tab prior to the meeting date. Hope to see you then.

    The next Association luncheon will take place at Glory Days Grill in Warrenton, VA on December 11, 2024, at 12:00pm. Come on out for some food and fellowship. Hope to see you there.

    Passing of Retired Technician Carmen J. Defranks, Sr.

    The Association is sad to announce the passing of Retired Technician Carmen J. Defranks, Sr. Carmen passed away early this morning, October 6, 2024. Carmen began his career with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Service on May 05, 1970, with the 14th Recruit School.
    Additional information on funeral arrangements will be posted as they are received.
    Please keep Audreenia (Carmen’s wife) and the rest of the Defranks and the DiCola family in your thoughts and prayers.

     Carmen Defranks, Sr. Viewing/Service information

    Carmen James Defranks, Sr. worked for Fairfax County for 39½ years. for 15 years, he was a firefighter at Franconia and McLean and the rest in the Fire Marshall's office for Chantilly and Centreville. My father, Jr DiCola, graduated from high school with Carmen. Carmen moved to VA in 1962, and he met Audreenia, his sweetheart, in 1965. Married 58 years and my parents were their best man and matron of honor. Carmen was my brother, David DiCola 's Godfather.
    Carmen is survived by his beautiful wife Audreenia, son and daughter-in-law Pete and Suzie, and 3 grandsons; Luca, Tony and Vinnie. Preceded in death by his son Carmen Jr.
