It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that I inform everyone of the passing of former Volunteer Chief Clyde Clark of Fire Station 01, McLean.
Chief Clark passed away on Tuesday evening, October 22, 2024, at home. Clyde joined the McLean Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) in June 1962, where he served and dedicated his life to the citizens of McLean and Fairfax County for 62 years. Even after stepping down as chief, he continued to mentor and pass on his knowledge to all career and volunteer members who came through the doors at Fire Station 1.
Clyde Clark was also a well-known and remembered teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools. Clyde taught at W.T. Woodson among other places.
Plans for Chief Clyde Clark’s service are being finalized and will be posted upon receipt.
Cards of condolences may be sent to
    The Clark Family

Please keep the Clark family in your thoughts and prayers.
Rest in peace Clyde, you will be missed by so many.
